An Issue Layout acts as a flexible form that allows you to input and modify issue-related information. With layout rules, you can tailor the visibility of fields based on certain conditions, helping streamline workflows and protect sensitive data.

Let’s walk through a use case:

Suppose an electrical issue arises following an appliance setup. The case is assigned to the Engineering Team, who will then collaborate with an external electrical technician. To maintain internal security protocols, it's necessary that only the technical aspects of the issue are accessible to the technician—while internal-only fields should remain hidden.

By configuring Issue Layout Rules, you can apply conditional logic based on the team involved.
  • Condition: When the Associated Team is set to Engineering Team
  • Action:
    • Show specific sections containing electrical specifications and diagnostics.
    • Hide or disable non-technical inputs like Severity, Project Phase, or internal notes.
This smart rule setup guarantees that the technician views only the information they need, while internal fields remain protected—helping you manage sensitive data more effectively and securely.
