We hope you're having an amazing day! Zoho introduced a game-changing upgrade for your coding journey—a brand-new IDE designed specifically for Functions!

Packed with powerful and developer-friendly tools, this IDE brings features like testing functions without impacting deployed versions, tracking revisions, reviewing changes, and even customizing the interface. Here's a breakdown of what's in store:

What's New in the Editor?  

This upgraded IDE offers:

  • Test Run

  • Review

  • Revisions

  • Settings

1. Test Run  

In the older editor, using the Save and Execute button would both save your function and execute it. This meant that any updates were automatically applied across all deployed locations.

Now, with the Run feature in the new IDE, you can test your function in real-time without saving or impacting its deployment. This allows for quick and worry-free testing—perfect for experimenting without committing changes prematurely.


2. Review  

Ever wished you could easily see the tweaks you've made to your code? You're in luck!

The Review tool acts as a diff-editor, highlighting recent changes. Located conveniently in the left pane, it provides a clear view of modifications, making your coding experience more efficient and organized.



3. Revisions  

Missed your previous logic? Want to revisit an earlier version? The Revisions feature is here to save the day!

This component lets you:

  • View the last 30 versions of your function.

  • Access detailed logs of changes, including the user and timestamp.

  • Restore any previous version by selecting the Use this revision option.

This ensures you always have a backup and a way to recover earlier iterations.

4. Settings  

What’s a coding environment without personalization? The new IDE offers you the flexibility to make it truly yours.

Whether it’s activating Dark Mode, adjusting font size, tweaking word spacing, or enabling syntax assist, you can now tailor your workspace to suit your style.
