Hello Everyone,
As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, Zoho DataPrep is stepping up to protect your data—starting with how you connect to Snowflake.
In line with Snowflake’s pledge to the CISA Secure by Design initiative, single-factor authentication using only a password is being officially phased out. Starting October 2024, all new Snowflake accounts will require multi-factor authentication (MFA) by default. By November 2025, single-factor password sign-ins will no longer work.
So, what’s changing in Zoho DataPrep?
Starting in August 2025, Zoho DataPrep will introduce private key and OAuth authentication options for Snowflake connections. No more relying on just usernames and passwords. Instead, you’ll get better control, tighter security, and full compliance with Snowflake’s latest policies.

FAQs:
Q: What happens if I don’t update my connection?
Your connection will work only until November 2025. After that, if you're still using password-based login, you’ll lose access.
Q: Do I need to create a brand new connection?
Nope. Just edit your existing one using the steps above.
